South Valley

Description

The departure from the hotel will be between 8:30 and 9 in the morning, we start the tour in a van, we travel for 45 minutes to reach the first point of our visit, located in the district of Tipon, the archaeological complex of Tipon, located in a height of 3560 meters above sea level, it is the maximum Inka representation of Hydraulics, platforms located in a small gorge in the middle of the mountains.

According to important chroniclers, it was a place for agricultural experimentation, a place for the acclimatization of seeds to different temperatures and altitudes.

You can see in this complex the perfect distribution of water channels, which start from a spring located in the highest part of the complex, to later divide and irrigate all the platforms in an orderly and stylish way.

We continue our tour and arrive at Piquillaqta, a pre-Inka citadel, to be more exact, a Wari citadel, the Wari expanded from Ayacucho, which was their capital, to the jungle of Cusco, Vilcabamaba, and in their wake, they left buildings as impressive as it is Piquillaqta, the largest walled city in the Cusco region.

The last point on our visit will be the Church of San Pedro the Apostle of Andahuaylillas, known as the Sistine Chapel of America because its structure is similar to the European Chapel, Andahuaylillas is a clear example of the artistic development that occurred in this part of the world in colonial times.

Returning to the city of Cusco, the guide will ask the group if they want to have lunch on the route, since on the return they will pass through Tipon and Saylla, famous culinary towns, which offer typical dishes such as baked guinea pig and chicharrón.

They will be back in the city at approximately 3 pm.
