The sacred valley of the Inkas that according to the chronicles did not belong to any of the 4 suyos in the great Tawantinsuyo, especially if it was the extension of the sacred city of Cusco.
We start the tour with the pick up from the hotel between 7:30 to 8 am, after a 45-minute trip they arrive at the Taray viewpoint, from where you can appreciate the majesty of this valley, time to take pictures and once finished, continue the tour to the town of Pisaqa, or current town of Pisaq.
The visit of the archaeological complex of Pisaq begins a place that in Inka times was an important administrative city for the entire valley, in this llaqta you can clearly see and differentiate the agricultural, military, urban and religious zones.
You will also appreciate the Tantanamarka cemetery, the largest cemetery today, tombs dug into the mountain, once the bodies were mummified; their final whereabouts were inside these holes in the mountain.
Time to enjoy the journey through the fertile sacred valley of the Inkas, there are more than 1000 kilometers from the beginning in Pisaq to Machupicchu, the only place in the world where giant corn is cultivated, an agricultural species genetically modified by the Inkas that is known as Paraqay.
After a 45-minute drive, we arrive at Urubamba, the most developed city in the Sacred Valley.
Lunch will be taken in Urubamba; there are many very good restaurants in the city.
Continuing with the tour, we arrive at Ollantaytambo, also known as the last living Inka city, it is known by this name because all the bases of the modern town are located on the foundations of the ancient Inka city of Ollantaytambo. The urban design that the city presents dates back to the original Inka design.
You will visit the town of Ollantaytambo and the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, a walled fortress, which according to experts was the first Inka city, even founded and inhabited before the sacred Inka city of Qosqo.
Returning to the city of Cusco, taking another route from Urubamba, you will arrive at Chinchero, a city famous for the presence of many textile workshops, entire families are dedicated to textiles, an activity dedicated mainly to tourism today, with demonstrations and offers of products.
Also in Chinchero you will visit the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and the archaeological complex of Chinchero. The approximate time of completion of the tour and return to the hotel in Cusco, 7 pm.
Itinerary
7:30-8:00 am: Departure from the hotel and start of the tour.
08:45-9:00 am: Visit to the archaeological complex of Pisaq.
10:00 am: Visit to the artisan market of Pisaq.
11:00 am: Departure from Pisaq and transfer to Urubamba.
12:00 noon: Lunch at a tourist restaurant with buffet food.
13:30 am: Departure from the restaurant and transfer to Ollantaytambo.
2:30 p.m.: Visit to the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo.
16:00-16:30 am: Departure from Ollantytambo towards Chinchero.
17:00-17:15 am: Visit to the archaeological complex of Chinchero.
18:00 am: Return to the hotel in Cusco.
19:00 am: Arrival to the city of Cusco and to the hotel.
